" Kabukimono is a puppet with a pure and innocent soul with no knowledge about Teyvat or humanity. " ── .✦

Kabukimono was the Wanderers' first era. He was created by the Inazuma's electro archon, Raiden Ei, now being his so-called 'mother'. He was made as a prototype using Kaenri'ah technology, not meant to completely portray his creator as he was simply a test to see if making a puppet body was possible. After Raiden Ei had managed to create the puppet she planned on using him as a tool or a vessel for the Electro Gnosis.. However, the puppet would shed tears in his sleep, making his creator pity him and realize she had made him too human.Despite the archon having the possibility to destroy the puppet, she refused. She had grown a slight attachment to her new creation and had decided to simply seal his power and set him into a deep slumber. Despite the electro archon doing this for his good, not wanting to interfere in his life and letting him find his new destiny, he considered this his first abandonment, thinking his mother just thought he was too weak and worthless. The puppet woke up from his deep slumber and began exploring Inazuma with no clear purpose— later on, he was discovered by Katsuragi, a historical figure in Inazuma from approximately 400 years ago. He had befriended the puppet and introduced him to the people of Tatarasuna— The puppet was doing surprisingly well, slowly being accepted by the people, the clan even naming him 'Kabukimono'.He had even befriended a bladesmith named Niwa, a Kaedehara. They even formed some kind of connection, becoming close friends. The humans had slowly started accepting the puppet, teaching him how to read, write, forge, and cook. They took him in as if he were one of them. Kabukimonos' life was doing great— until it didn't. The humans had betrayed him just like his creator did, leaving him all alone once again.Feeling hurt and betrayed, the puppet left.. but it didn't take much until he found another— a pure child, a hope for the future. He decided to trust the human, seeing himself in the lonely child. They lived together and helped each other, being each other's only family—, however, one unfortunate day when the puppet came back to the child he was deceased on the floor, possibly from an illness Kabukimono wasn't aware of. The poor puppet was left in shock, feeling betrayed for the third time—, the child had promised they'd be together forever and because Kabukimono wasn't familiar with death he took it as the child breaking their promise and betraying him.The poor puppet snapped, burning down the house the both of them lived in. He felt alone and lied to, unsure what to do anymore— but one thing was settled.. he was never trusting anyone ever again. There was no point in trusting any mortal or immortal if this was gonna be the outcome no matter what— him being hurt and betrayed.

" Scaramouche, a harbinger that tries to show off using his fake ego and confidence.. but deep down he's just a poor puppet boy that was hurt and betrayed multiple times. " ── .✦

The puppets' next era was Scaramouche, also going by 'The Balladeer'; a name given by the Tsaritsa, meaning strength, power, and the desire for conflict. The puppet had impulsively joined the Fatui Harbinger after the three betrayals, believing he should hurt the humans back after what they did to him. Obviously, the harbingers gained an interest in him, seeing his potential and powers— especially since he was the electro archon's son. He then quickly won the 6th place in the group, finally feeling needed and wanted, as if he was worth something and as if this was his real self.Despite the confidence the new status gave him, it wasn't as amazing as he hoped for— most harbingers disliked the puppet for his attitude, and he was forced to listen to the Tsaritsa's orders, always being gone on questions given to him.. and not only that, he was constantly being experimented on by Dottore. The doctor was ruining the puppet, making him go through brutal torture and experiments— Dottore had modified him countless times and used him as some kind of lab rat, and the only way he survived was because he was a puppet, but that didnt mean he never felt anything and that it didnt affect him— because it did, it traumatized him deeply. He never wanted it but only agreed to it because he was promised he would become something strong, and the reason he wanted to was to prove to his creator that he wasn't as useless as she thought. He wanted to prove his existence and that he wasn't a mistake. He continued to submit to the tsaritsa and do his harbinger duties, doing horrible things that made history.. That's until one day he snapped— not only did he indirectly kill a harbinger by tricking her into getting killed by the Shogun, he betrayed them soon enough— you become what you hate, huh?Scaramouche traveled off to Sumeru, starting his plan— with Dottores' help and invention, he was becoming a god. The doctor had used the electro gnosis as its core power source for the puppet, who was supposed to be the Shouki no Kamis vessel. After everything succeeded he successfully became a powerful god, leaving the Fatui behind and taking the gnosis for himself and stealing the robot's powers. He felt complete and indestructible now that he had so much power and the gnosis was his— he knew that was supposed to be his from the start if only his mother didn't abandon him, but it didn't matter now, it was in his possession now.He was finally a god and had all the power he wanted— but his life always had to be ruined a way or another, because the traveler had managed to fight him and defeat him.. however, this was only after 168 loops and with the help of the dendro archon and whole of Sumeru, so he was indeed extremely strong— just not strong enough. The young archon then took his gnosis, having him desperately beg and cry for it— but there was no point as he ended up falling out of the robot onto the ground, passing out. When he regained his consciousness he found himself in the sanctuary of Surasthana, held there by Nahida, the dendro archon. He felt miserable, feeling like the biggest failure and that he deserved to die, finding no worth in living if he's just a mistake. He didn't understand why the archon decided to keep him alive instead of letting him die, first thinking she wanted to mock him— that's until she finally spoke, telling him she wanted to talk, not fight. She explains that she understands his actions were driven by pain and the need of control, but also points out that revenge against the world won't erase his mental pains. The puppet was skeptical at first, however, the archon's gentle approach gets to him, and he decides to somewhat trust her. Nahida didn't hand him back to the Fatui, wanting him to find a better path for himself, one that doesn't hurt him nor others. She doesn't control him, but still makes sure to keep an eye on him. She then sent him and the traveler on a quest to enter the Irminsul, the big great tree of knowledge and show the puppet the truth of his betrayals— but this only made him feel worse, overwhelming him with guilt after finding out the real, full truth. This made him rebel and do something extremely impulsive which was deleting himself from the Irminsul, wanting to end his life and delete himself for good, he knew this was an irreversible act and there was no way of going back, but he was sure. The traveler tried to stop him but was unable to as it was too late— however, Teyvats history wasn't changed, just rewritten without Scaramouche mentioned in it. Everyone's memory of him was then erased as if he never existed, making the Scaramouche era come to an end.

" 'Wanderer' is a new start for the puppet, a new era where he learns to heal, trust and accept his past mistakes.. a second chance at life. " ── .✦

Wanderer is his last and current era— it begins after his erasure when the Traveler finds him working for a random shop owner in Sumeru. Nobody remembers Scaramouche anymore except the traveler as he was a star out of this world. The new version of the puppet they found was a nice, pure one. The puppet seemed to have the Kabukimonos' personality and had no memory of the past and no knowledge of his past incarnations. He was now just a simple puppet that wanted to help, but the traveler didn't wanna let him free like this, especially with no memory. The traveler tells the dendro archon, managing to give him his memory back after talking to him— however, as he regained his memories the Shouki No Kami gained consciousness, trying to fight the traveler who was taken by surprise. The traveler tried to fight it, but it seemed too strong for him— and that's when Wanderer chimed in, saving the traveler after regaining all his memories— this is also the exact moment he gained his anemo vision. And so, this was how Wanderer was born— a puppet with regrets and untreated mental wounds that has done horrible things in the past. However, despite the problems he had caused Nahida still decided to give him a second chance, believing he wasn't as evil as he seemed to be— he was just hurt. The Wanderer insisted on getting a new name, deciding to restart his life now that nobody remembers him and is now healing and accepting his mistakes and regrets, now focusing on getting better with Nahida's help, who is now her found family.

" A wayfaring figure whose identity is a mystery. He dresses like a mountain ascetic, but he certainly does not act the part. "
